Pats LB Hightower on Tomlin's Comments: "Is that supposed to hurt my feelings?" WR Edelman: "That's how that team is run."

As a neutral party, I agree that Edleman's comment is being overblown. I also think Tomlin's comment is being way overblown. Referring to your opponent as "assholes" behind closed doors? It's locker room talk 101 and absolutely every player knows that because obviously they've all been in them. There was no pointed criticism, no mockery, nothing else – it barely registers as trash talk, especially because it was said it private.

At least Edleman said something public, and it what he said was insulting to the leadership of that team, even if rather mildly. And you're right about Brady, but I'm not sure I understand your point: Brady took a little shot too. A very small shot, I get that, but let's be honest: the person being the most insulted in any of this is Mike Tomlin. That does have the potential to resonate among Steelers players.

But all if this stuff is so insignificant, so silly... which is exactly when I'm enjoying it. Players will have exchanged more insulting comments, and more of them, before the second snap of game. Just like every other game.
