Paula Lavigne and Mark Schlabach to release a book about the pattern of sexual violence at Baylor University & its football program.

They're doing their part to help ensure that this type of thing never happens again by calling attention to it and highlighting specifics, and that's a wonderful thing. At the end of the day, these are institutions of higher learning first, and as much as we all love football, at the end of the day it's just a game, and a small part of what makes a university what it is. Disgusting abuses and coverups like this can't happen, and we have to hold everybody accountable for their actions.

While it's easy to simply be dismayed and shake your head at the situations that occurred at Baylor and Penn State, it's equally as important that we all stay vigilant to ensure that it doesn't happen at the schools that we love by keeping our eyes and ears open and holding everybody accountable for their actions, always, no matter what. As important as it is to ensure that the victims are taken care of, it's equally important to treat this type of thing as a learning experience to prevent it in the future.
