Paulie Malignaggi on how the UFC takes advantage of the fighters and their pay.

They blame Dana, but these are grown men choosing to fight 2-4x a year rather than work 40+ hrs a week. They have choices, of who to fight and win.

But its prizefighting, as it always has been. And people chasing prizes want to compete where the prizes are biggest. MMA's biggest prizes are in the UFC and kid after kid is willing to risk making nothing for a chance to be a UFC star.

If the 'fighters' arent happy with the contract, then they shouldnt sign it. If they are netting 3.5k over 6 months, they should probably look for a better job. But most of these kids belive they can punch their way to the top, not realizing this a sales business and the company will write narratives to help project their top salesman's numbers.

I cant feel bad for someone who signs on the dotted line and cries about it later when he loses. Do you see the champs, who get 1/4 mill + per fight, crying about dana and getting paid? Its the ones who agreed to take a chance and failed and blame someone else.
