PBD/Vegan Gas Problems

If you are using canned beans, try this instead:

Get a pressure cooker or Instant Pot and cook your beans with a bit of kombu - it's a dried seaweed that can be found online or in health stores that reduces the gas-forming aspects of beans.

Also try soaking your beans for 8 hours and discarding the soaking water - this will also leach out some of the offending sugars that can cause gas.

A bay leaf also helps a bit but not as much as kombu in my experience.

Alternatively you can look to mung beans, lentils and less gas-forming legumes for now until you are used to them.

Brussel Sprouts I cannot help with as they still give me horrible gas today. Broccoli I can eat but only when cooked - same with cauliflower.
