PC guy who has question about FPS. Question in comments.

I'm new-ish the the PC world and specifically waiting for RDR2 to come to PC, boy was it a long wait......So I need help on if my game is all good. I'm the first to say I'm a graphics snob (basically the reason I waiting for PC to play) and I can play GTA V on all Ultra settings and get at least 85fps. But on RDR2 I'm not maxed out by any means but I have all the important ones on ultra and then mostly high, and a few medium. The game looks GREAT, best game I've ever seen. But I just tested my fps and its maxing out at 48 fps, and like 40 on the lowest. That seems super low. But I haven't had one instance where I was like "oh shit the fps is lagging out". It seems to be totally fine, even when the shit hits the fan and there's a huge gun fight going on. I included a video of a stroll thru Saint Dennis to show what my average gameplay looks like. Its not abnormal is it? It doesn't seem choppy at all and I can't even tell its getting such low frame rates. But a seasoned PC gamer might be able to tell me. So does fps not matter as much for a really cinematic game like this?
