As i said already, it is a good enough reference to give OP (a non computer person) a rough estimate on what to look out for and good easy way to find said information for other cpus he might want to consider. Thats it. Theres really is no deeper meaning to it, knor does there have to be. We arent talking about min maxing the cpu with overclocking.

And i just gave a huge write up of why i think 8 cores would a sweet spot for new computer for music production.

Idk if i understood your sentence correctly but obviously number of cores isnt a predictor for multicore performance. A 13600k will beat a 5800x.

What i sid is that a DAW isnt really good at multicore processing and after around 8 cores you need to start to focus on single core performance for an optimal cpu. Meaning a 13700k will better for music production than a 3970X threadripper.
