PCS Travel Questions

I don't understand why you want to take leave before your final out date because if you go to your final out appointment and MPF notice something your missing, you can't leave till it's finished. A week prior to final out appointment, ensure everything is Golden! But after your final out, I recommend you take leave and your CURRENT UNIT must approve leave in route before you officially travel to your next duty station. And yes, you don't need to be on leave to be officially traveling to your next duty station. If your orders state you are allotted 3 days of travel, take those 3 days! On the 4th day, you report to your unit to in process and head to finance immediately after! But the fine print that you don't notice is the amount of miles the military considers 1 day of travel. I believe it's 350m. If your next base is 321m away but orders state 3 days of travel, you might just take 1 day to travel lol.

Only reason I stated this extra information because airmen do all kinds of stuff that's results where you put your hand on your face, and try to pull out your gray hairs.
