Peace Corps Resume Questions

Hey! I am also currently applying for Peace Corp 2017, and have encountered similar issues. A friend of mine who just got accepted allowed me to take a look at his resume, and it has helped me approach my resume differently. I understand and sympathize with your anxieties! I tailored my resume to coincide with Peace Corp's qualifications, stipulations, and the imperative qualities for which they look for in a volunteer. Here is what I put for my study abroad/ cross cultural experiences (in it's original format, except the font size and character):

SERVICE-LEARNING TRIP, LESOTHO, AFRICA December 17, 2015 – January 8, 2016 Lead by university professor, Scott Rosenberg, a Peace Corp volunteer in Lesotho from 1998-1991. Began taking Wittenberg students back as volunteers to work with the Basotho people in 2003. During our trip we: • Collaborated and worked with Habitat for Humanity Lesotho to build a house for a family of orphans. • Built two playgrounds, painted an educational mural on the walls of an elementary school after a storm had destroyed it. • Were given a rejuvenating, cross-cultural experience that gave me a new perspective and insight of my life; creating and making myself into a better person. • Became more culturally sensitive by being immersed in a specific community.

Also, for my language qualifications I added that I am fluent with an additional indication of my fluency in a professional setting, if that makes sense. I felt that the description of the word, fluent, was enough to resonate my comfortability with the language and my experience speaking said language in a professional environment.

Hopefully this helps! Good luck on your application!
