It's taken a while to reply. Certainly most don't, except in some communities in the Evangelical south where women wear a lot of makeup, high heels, and high heels. As as for some women being complicit in the beauty industry...of course. But, that's true of all oppressed groups...there will always be a portion of the oppressor group that will partner opportunisticly in their own oppression. And, sure, some women enjoy makeup and heels...just for themselves. However, I don't personally know women who put down other women for rejecting artificial beauty standards...I was never mocked or parodied by glamorous, beauty-affirming women for not wearing makeup and feminine dress, although my mother often urged me to wear more makeup and feminine dress in order to attract the eye of successful men. And, that was for my benefit...she truly thought that I could never be financially secure and safe without a man by my side...but, that was a very different era.
