Pearl Jam tickets sold out in 1 minute: "fans being gouged whilst pigs try to profit", "Genuine fans are being fleeced for money above the price the band themselves deemed fair for the tickets", "I still don’t understand why a large corporation is allowed to resell tickets at inflated prices"

it's too perfect. the record companies would have the capital to create these bots, buy these tickets, resell and profit. Again, the company and the artist look clean because they originally offered the tix for $25. So consumers sigh and say "oh well, someone beat me to it" and pay the higher prices via 3rd party systems where the record companies, via shell corps or another mechanism, unload them.

Record companies are losing record money because people don't buy music anymore. The money is in live shows. So artificially driving up ticket costs is incentivized by the profit motive of the companies that have a monopoly on the tickets- they set the time of release, they approve the sales, so they can tilt the scales in favor of themselves.

Just my $0.02
