Both Shanahan/Lynch (in pressers since we cut Foster) said it was clear he was taking steps to fix his off field issues since the first accusation. This is clearly a huge step back, and we cut him because he violated the FO/team’s trust (even if he didn’t do it he put himself in a stupid situation....again). They both hit on how they think he is still a good person (unless he managed to pull the wool over their eyes in every contact they had with him, Shanahan even said something like “shame on me if that’s the case”) and hope he fixes himself and goes on to find success in life. I’d take their take on the situation over ours. Again, I’m not trying to comment on whether he did it or not, because if he did it’s inexcusable.

Do find it ridiculous that a team would take him onto their roster (before it plays out in court) and so readily take the PR hit while someone like Kaep couldn’t even sniff a backup QB spot. Get he’s on a rookie contract and all, but man, the NFL is ass backwards.
