I think you’re replying to what’s in the article and not what I said. I specifically said no registry.

As for voluntary BCs, why do it if you’re not required to? The Odessa shooter failed an FFL BC and bought the weapon through a private sale. That’s an MCE that could have been prevented by a responsible seller.

The point of private sales was for folks who know each other and have no reason to suspect nefarious intentions to make a sale without needing to vet the buyer. As a responsible gun owner it should be incumbent to at least put forth some effort (just a BC and no registry) to make sure you’re not contributing to a future MCE.

If you can’t muster up agreement to that then you clearly give no fucks about what you’re selling and to whom.
