Penn & Teller: Bullshit! Circumcision (2005) [29:39] an in depth look into male circumcision

I hear you. I just think its a never ending debate much like abortion. But for the sake of argument. First of all, its their child so who are we to say what they decide. We dont tell people how to cut their childs hair for example. I know thats a bad example but still. As a parent this should be your choice and the rest of us should mind our own business. But thats just the way i look at it.

You had no choice who your parents were going to be either so should we say once you get to a certain age you can pick whomever you want as your parents? Pretty weak argument but still, choices. We dont always have them when we enter the world.

I do however understand how they say its "mutilation" but i have to disagree that not all unsnipped dongs are aesthetically pleasing, because the way i look at it my junk looked mutilated and i WASNT cut at birth.

For some its a religious reason, so i can understand that. I dont agree with it necessarily but i can understand how youd want to continue a tradition.

Aside from the religious aspect, there are pros and cons of having your child snipped. Its not easy to say one is better than the other because individual experiences will differ among males. Some say it looks better snipped. Some say it feels better unsnipped. Some say its easier to clean snipped. Its a back and forth game.

Now what i really dont get is why they circumcise females. I mean i know why some religions do it, but anatomically speaking its a ridiculous idea. For males, i dont think so as it makes a huge difference in the appearance after its done. And honestly the argument that some men say they wished they hadnt been snipped is weak because i havent heard one guy say he was not pleased with his cut cock. Im sure they are out there but they seem like a very rare breed to me. Other than the sensitivity argument, which i can understand. But as far as aesthetics and of course societal acceptance, most seem to be happy with it.

With that said, im still on the fence if i would snip my child or not. Its not a clear cut (pardon the pun) decision in my mind. And thats simply because of my own personal experiences of being born unsnipped. Id hate to have my child go through what i went through. Not that they will be then again id definitely not want them to resent me because i "mutilated" their cock. So i dunno. Its certainly a tough one for me.
