Pennsylvania WIC guidelines

Oh no I went alone to both my WIC and MediCal appointments when I signed up. It was a pretty simple process at WIC. You just make an appointment. go in, fill out some info, sit down with a counselor person and they sign you up. Then you have to take some quick class on how to use the vouchers. Then they print your vouchers and you’re on your way. They schedule all follow up appointments. After the baby is born she will have to bring the baby with her so they can weigh him/her and stuff. Just a heads up, WIC really pushes for the mother to breastfeed. They will give her books and handouts all the time. I believe you are expected to take some breastfeeding classes as well. But they will provide formula vouchers, they just heavily push for breastfeeding exclusively. They will rent out breast pumps if the mother has to return to work as well. But MediCaid should also provide you with a pump as well.
