The Pentagon Released Base-by-Base Data on Sexual Assault in the Military

IDK about the other branches but the Army views sex while under the influence of alcohol as rape. I sat through SHARPs training everytime I got to a new post. While living in the barracks civilian guests had to present ID to the front desk and check in. I don't know what more you could do to lower chances of this happening without just putting soldiers on 24/7 lockdown.

Army even reminds people at the final formation on Friday's to not beat your wife, your dog, kids, etc. To not have sex if she's drunk. Don't drink and drive. Etc etc. God damn formation can last an hour sometimes.

Personally I think the high rate of sexual assault is caused by the same thing that causes so many soldiers to be hardcore alcoholics and drink and drive. Bunch of young, dumb, lonely young adults getting hazed all day by NCOs. It's a perfect storm of testosterone and frustration for these dumb bastards to lash out and hurt someone or do something stupid. No amount of PowerPoint presentations, or division wide lockdowns is going to change that.
