People are angry at Andrew's tweets on the El Paso shooter

....smh, I'm centre left myself but i feel like we need to understand that NO ONE is born hating others. IMO in the majority of situations it starts off slow and for issues such as economic insecurity and inequality and job insecurity (thanks to automation) + bleakness about the future (climate change). ofc there do exist families that propagate white supremacy to their children, however I believe that they constitute a largely insignificant minority (in saying that we need to educate people who have that mindset imo) Nonetheless these issues, can directly impact someone's sense of purpose and meaning and thus serve as a catalyst for an individual's downward spiral into a dark place (poor mental health). This, if left untreated, could ultimately cause someone to resort to anger and hate and violence...and thus you get mass shootings because they think that this is the only way they can make a point. Like seriously do you know of any mass shooters who have had an excellent mental health record? They ALL have mental health issues in one way or another. Basically I am saying that we need to get people of out the downward spiral BEFORE their violent tendencies and beliefs take place. Its well known that we have a mental health crisis rn, the stats are there...

so it really frustrates me when some leftists say GUN CONTROL like its a simple solution. Like although we do need some common sense gun control, like Yang's gun control policy (except for fingerprints to the fbi...), this imo is a bandaid to a very complex problem... ITS A MIXTURE OF MANY FACTORS. WE NEED TO BE ADDRESSING THE ROOT CAUSE -economic insecurity, hopelessness about the future, lack of meaning and purpose, AS WELL AS discouraging white supremacist ideas and beliefs. We need to take them out of the downward spiral and address their mental health issues before they act violently.
