I spent the 90s working restaurant jobs, stripping, repairing cars, painting houses, and any number of other bullshit jobs....all of which I did under a single LLC. This allowed me to build business credit. My primary support for the first 3 years after my wife left us was ebay sales of used books. Once my girls were in school and I could take a job...2002 I started taking entry level positions in various manufacturing areas...moving all over the country...many of the jobs were breaking down machinery....or installing it.
I used these jobs which were often 3-6 months long to meet people, make connections, and to learn how the machines of industry work.
Eventually I got to the point that my ability to modify machines, understand complex processes and come up with unique solutions started getting me job offers.. I chose to refuse employment. Instead I decided spending my time with my daughters was more important...and I wanted the freedom to control my time. So I made a counter offer on a job offer. I told them I could do everything they needed from me in 6 months and told them what it would cost in comparison to buying in machinery. I gave a full presentation and 2 weeks later they called me and declined. My 6th pitch agreed and Ive been able to pick and choose work since then. I have periods where I will go 3-6 months without a contract....but when I am earning well...I sink more money into low dollar condos around college campuses than I take in salary. So in slow months...I draw off that. And before you make it out like only a rich person...its about being a smart person....My first property cost me $18k at a tax sale. I flipped it...and bought a 4plex outright which leveraged to my next place.

See you make assumptions that Ive just been handed something...that I was lucky in timing or something....I grew up dirt poor...and Im not much more than that now. I live modestly and I earn well below my potential. I accept that. I have different priorities. But my business...is me...its my thoughts and ideas and my ability to convince others that I can improve their business. So if you want to hate me...hate that I actually benefit more from these bad times you feel you are suffering than I ever did the good times you seem to imagine blessed everyone at all older than yourself.

I am unsure of what made you choose to lock in on me and my words so oppositionally...but I have no use for you or this form of interaction. So do me a favor and dont continue to post counters to everything I say that you dont agree with...the internets a big place...and nothing of worth will come from our continued interaction.
