Why do people build free modules for everyone to use in their code?

Dude, it’s good that you feel critical of capitalism, but an entitlement to the products of other peoples’ labour for free is ironically more capitalist than someone not giving away things they made for free. Being a capitalist is contingent on the exploitation of other workers, not on selling the fruits of your own effort. It is not capitalist to demand compensation for your work, in fact it is the whole ethical problem with capitalism that workers do not get what they deserve.

At the same time, the fact that everyday people don’t have the resources to compensate others for their work is an economic reality caused by capitalism, so you are coming from the right place, but your remark is kind of imprecise.
