Why do people care so much about Kevin Porter Jr.?

He's basically in the sweet spot of being just anonymous enough that knowing of him makes you seem really smart, but still well-known enough to get a decent amount of hype

As a prospect he was advertised as a wing with good size, athleticism, and shot creation that was held back by character concerns. In terms of pure talent and skillset alone I think you could argue that he could've been a mid first rounder. He backed it up with a solid rookie year.

Turns out people were right about his intangibles. But he's also very young and has the talent of a very solid player. If he can iron out his issues with the help of a team or on his own, he has the potential to be an "I told you so", which NBA twitter absolutely loves to do
