People complaining about Linux

Ideally, if building a machine for Linux with newish hardware you’d want to check compatibility and support for at least your Mobo, cpu, gpu, networking, peripherals. Usually using previous year tech is pretty safe but not a guarantee for success when it comes to certain chipsets and components.

The positive here is that your problems will probably be fixed with time. Some may not though if they are restricted by closed source drivers or restrictive licenses by the vendor. Linux devs can be amazingly talented folks; but they can’t magically develop solutions for locked down hardware or get around legal roadblocks which make them unable to provide solutions at all.

Measure twice cut once is the saying though. In future, ask on Linux subs or forums for parts compatibility and your journey would be smooth sailing most likely. Hope your server is up and purring away now!
