Do people from the United States genuinely think that people from other countries are jealous of their “freedom” and “way of life”? If so, what do you think you have that others don’t?

America still seems like an unlivable dystopian nightmare compared to Australia, but we have gloomy news here too.

As an Aussie living in the USA.... I gotta disagree with you. My quality of life here is far superior to that in the US; and cost of living is way lower. The one place where it's more expensive is health related stuff, but since I'm relatively healthy and my two major requirements (birth control and asthma medication) are covered by health insurance or available for realtively decent prices online. You mention the "propaganda machine" and yet you've fallen prey to it. If you take 5 steps outside of major coastal cities in the USA then homes are ridiculously affordable, food is cheaper and overall lifestyle is amazing compared to what all the Buzzfeed "I have a Masters/Ph.D, earn $33k and have to live with 8 room mates a 3 hour commute from my job" articles would have you believe.
