Maybe its not the same in every province… where I live, if you dont have private medical insurance, you get the government one which covers 65% and the maximum amount you can spend for meds out of your pocket is 97$ every month. After that its all free, including for diabetics. All surgeries, doctor appointments, all are free unless they are not essential (plastic surgeries). Of course seeing a therapist is not free anywhere in the world, but if you need to see one, I would suggest calling hospitals or universities where they have a psychology program, you can get a therapist for a lot cheaper. I used to see one in a public clinic and it was something like 50$. Still expensive but also half the price of others
