Why do people hate so much on cappers?

Behold ladies and gentlemen, the reason why Hirez should not listen to all the people here on reddit.

What you just wrote is exactly the kind of ignorant and simplified twisting of facts, which causes Hirez to make stupid changes. Assuming that you are not deliberately being a retard, and actually just don't know any better, let me tell you all about animation cancelling.

Animation cancelling is a feature which can be found in many games. The way it works in Tribes: Ascend is quite simple, every weapon has a certain animation which plays whenever the weapon is reloaded, and at some point during that animation the game considers the weapon to be reloaded. To fire again you normally have to wait for the entirety of the animation, but if you perform an action which swaps away from your weapon, then the weapon is still considered reloaded and can be fired upon switching back. The two notable mechanisms here are switching to another weapon, and using a belt item.

The classic use of animation cancelling is by switching weapon twice, which can be done by pressing the weapon switch button twice or by adding a custom command which switches weapon upon pressing and releasing the button. In order to actually use animation cancelling you need to know the weapons reload point. With some weapons this method is not useful because waiting out the reload animation is quicker then switching twice. However even when using these weapons one can still utilize precise knowledge of a weapons reload point to swap to your secondary weapon a bit quicker and still have your first weapon reloaded if you switch back.

On some weapons the exact reload point is not trivial to hit. The best example would be the heavy/devastator spinfusor which, unlike the soldiers spinfusor, is not reloaded when the disk is visibly put into the weapon. As such an unskilled player will not be able to utilize animation cancelling on the brutes spinfusor, especially not in critical situations, because he would risk having to wait longer overall to shoot again.

An even more extreme example would be the assault/gast rifle, which theoretically permits animation cancelling for a very small, yet sometimes decisive, advantage. Actually hitting the reload point with it though can be quite challenging, and I do not know of any player who has actually been able to master it to the point of reliably using it.

So this is the first usage of animation cancelling, switching weapons twice, or switching just once but having your first weapon reloaded.

The second use is when throwing grenades, mostly when playing offense. In certain situations you can use animation cancelling in such a way, that you cancel the reload animation of your weapon by throwing a grenade, fire again, and cancel the animation again with another grenade, etc. This allows for a notable boost in the amount of burst damage one can do if one is able to reliably hit the reload point and still use the grenades, which now have to be thrown at specific times, effectively.

So please, PLEASE tell me again how animation cancelling consists of nothing but one skill-less button bind.

Or maybe just not talk at all if all you are saying is going to be simplified garbage.
