People here are over exaggerating the Egyptian political landscape...

however it's more likely in a next election we would elect a relatively secular government as people have a mostly negative feeling towards the islamists now.
However islamists would be allowed to say whatever they want and express their stupid political beliefs and it shouldn't worry us too much as it will be mostly just words.

This seems to be well planned, to have a good lookalike of democracy. Yeahh man ! They "would be allowed" to be on the scene and therefore, we "won't be worried" to tell the world that we have the best of the democracies.... Something out of Mubarak's 2005 parliament...It simply doesn't work that way !

isn't a good reason to not push for democracy

Annnd you're contradicting yourself. As I said, you are perfectly representing the Egyptian political psychology. You're asking for a democracy but within your quotas. Something that can be described by Orwell's quote : “ All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others. ”

If people think that is a good reason to avoid democracy than we are in serious trouble.

If you have answered my question at the end of my post : how would you possibly cohabit a secular and an islamist ? we would have been in less in a trouble....
