The People in Japan and Their Style

One thing I (and others probably) regularly forget is that fashion exists in a context. The weather in Japan is HOT, and also COLD. I betcha that loose fitting stuff is much more comfortable in the warmer months. That said, it all looks so frumpy to me but I'm not a fan of this workwear inspired fashion wave anyways.

There is another thing that I'm not sure how to say, but I'll try. A lot of the fashion I see from Japan is based upon emulating era's in American history. As a result, to me, much of it looks costume-y. At no point in my life did I wake and say, 'today I want to look like a mill worker in the 1950s' or 'lets splash out with some naval reproductions in 20oz denim head to toe'.
