Well. obviously top 6% is an automatic way to get into the university, so the people that don’t get in only have themselves to blame. But I honestly think affirmative action and encouraging diversity is kinda bullshit- the best man should always win, regardless of race. We live in a world with fine margins, and although someone who didn’t get in could’ve done better to put themselves in that automatic 6%, there will always be people who missed out at least partially because of affirmative action, with the university trying to increase diversity. So yeah despite the overreaction by a lot of people and the fact that fate was still in their hands, affirmative action is still pretty bullshit. The best man should always win. Always.
