Why do people leave the LDS Church? Let's drill down further and find out.

It's hard for me to take this stuff seriously. Doesn't the church already do their own studies/surveys? I mean there is a wealth of information between all the exmormon/mormon/lds/church-a-jesus-chris-a-latterday-saints, etc. subs here. Seems a great starting point. But I don't think church leaders are actually interested in the reasons people leave other than for internal use. Certainly not in the interest of helping family relations of those who leave.

Is there a benefit to another one of these kinds of studies? The first book was very insightful but unless something comes from the top church leadership, I don't see it as very helpful for mixed faith family relations.
