Why do people do the lottery when they have no big plans?

If I won the lottery I don't know what I'd do either. I may have tons of money but it wouldn't be realistically practical to be traveling all time and non stop excitement. More than likely, I'd enjoy the money in small doses, get something or do something for myself and my family that's really special. In the mean time - I'd be living an ordinary life - paying bills, running errands, going to appointments, etc.

I don't have a bucket list. Usually when I think of someplace really special I want to go or something I want to do, I've thought of it years later. I wouldn't have a spontaneous influx of ideas because I came into money. I realize I could live more comfortably than most, but I don't have a lot of wants.
