Why do people get so offended when you don’t believe ‘leaks’ or ‘spoilers’?

Of course we have to take every "leak" here with a huge grain of salt -- because in January (or maybe even when a trailer hits) we'll learn that 99.9% of them are fake -- but it's not especially productive to demand "proof" from the poster and when they don't provide it, accuse them of being a liar. What kind of proof can a supposed leaker give us that would satisfy you and also wouldn't get them into trouble? Even more details/spoilers? Screenshots? I assume you're referring in particular to your recent exchange with ViewerAnon, but it doesn't take much Reddit or Twitter research to see that, as far as leakers go, ViewerAnon has a solid track record that supports his (or her) role as a reliable insider. Again, it's totally valid and smart of you to not buy into whatever they or anyone else posts, but I'm not clear what engaging with and questioning someone you believe is lying to you with no outcome you'll find satisfying (and dedicating an entire post to it) does exactly.
