I have over 600 hours in this game, am in love with the concept and art design, and believe that its positives outweigh its negatives.

That said, the game still very much IS a shitshow, and I can't blame people for either quitting the game or not wanting to start in the first place.

The game has been horribly unbalanced since season 1, with each season just bringing new problems. The devs have shown that they struggle to balance the game and the approach they've taken (just give every character spammy lights and a plethora of cheesy unblockables!) doesn't work unless every character is on the same level, which is clearly not the case. Still, it's hard to tell if the balancing problems are due to botched attempts by the devs or if the fighting system is inherently broken to begin with (for example, parrying is still really strong and the devs underestimated how good people would get at the game.)

Changes have also come at an extremely slow rate it seems that each season brings new, more balancing issues. On top of that the majority of modes are dead now - people only play duel and dominion and ranked has been dead for a while now.
