To the people on a plane on 9/11, what did your pilots tell you when they grounded all flights?

I don't have a plane story, just a thought I realized recently.

Sept 2001, I was a freshman in high school when the planes hit, in class, literally maybe the 2nd or 1st week of school.

When I graduated in fall 2009 the housing market collapsed and my whole family lost their jobs, and with my English degree it would take me 7 years to finally find fulltime employment.

It's just amazing that as I made two of the biggest transitions in life, high school and career world, was right at these moments.

I know it altered those directly affected far more profoundly, but the only perspective I can share is my own. And once I put together that my transition from kid to adult was bookended by these catastrophes, I really wonder where I'd be had they not altered my (and all ours) lifecourse.
