Why do people post to /r/roastme?

I agree with you. I feel like people who spend a lot of time roasting posters on there are probably negative in general or insecure or idk what.

If I call someone ugly (I wouldn't) I'm just hating, or feeling bad about myself. And if I want people to tell me I look bad, I'm just trying to validate my own insecurities. If I posted to /r/roastme, I know what they're gonna say cuz I've posted twice before: they'll point out my big nose, my chin being "weirdly pointy", me looking like a lil kid, or some shit like that. I think they reuse a lot of humor.

I think it's dumb and petty even if it's "just a joke." Some people put a strange amount of effort into their roasts. And I think people who post there are insecure as well. I felt insecure so I posted there to feel worse.

Insulting somebody's appearance is just low and dumb. It doesn't matter. What makes a person ugly is their character and shitty personality traits and behavior.
