People of /r/india How many of you were beaten up by parents as kids?

My mother is one of 12 siblings. I'm surrounded by nephews and nieces. This is not counting newphews and nieces from extended family and the wife's side.

You have no idea what you're talking about. I experience the entire spectrum of childrens' behaviour on any given night.

However, I will say I generalised a bit. I have seen soke incredible parents being worn down by brats. In my experience, girls and nieces have been no trouble. At all. I can't recall a single incident where ny nieces have needed being told something twice.

My nephews, most of them, are nightmares. Ive had to slap a couple around because they won't listen to their parents or any other form of communication. AT ALL. This is exclusive to nephews. I will say that I met one of my cousin's kid after a while and he was kind, gentle and so understanding. I treated him like I would any other adult. Let him play with my Ps4 and he loved it. Rare example.

Boys, at one point or the other, will need to be slapped. Some of them may be kind, understanding and nature, but you're most likely raising a brat if you think you sont need to slap your kid.

Again, I may have generalised. But there will come a point where you need to slap a kid and its better to slap and let the lesson sink in rather than let a pattern of poor behaviour and decision making continue.
