People of reddit How was your first love?

She ghosted me for around a month because she had "mental health" issues, ended a one year relationship on my birthday over text, and then blocked me on everything before I even had a chance to reply. Turns out she was dating a freshman in college while she was a freshman in HIGH SCHOOL.

She broke up with him, realized she was bisexual, and got engaged to her girlfriend at 17. To this day she has never admitted the real reason we broke up, and acts like a 13 year old telling everyone in her life how "toxic" I was and how much I've hurt her. Granted, I was an asshole at times but I wasn't the only one at fault. Years later I realized that I made a lot of mistakes I tried to message her, apologizing for the things I did wrong on my part and how I wished her well in life. She instead let her fiance respond with wishing me physical harm. At that point I knew how much better off I was.

On the brightside, every single person I've been with after her has been an upgrade.
