People of Reddit, what do you not understand that everyone else understands?

Parents will always look to blame their own failures as teachers/role models on anything other than themselves. Maybe a single parent has to work a shit ton and can't be as active and positive role model in their child's life. So, the parent encourages the kid to find their own role models without ever explaining to them that these are people too. They will make mistakes, do and say things they shouldn't. But that, again, takes a measure of effort and awareness that lots of people simple don't want to take the time to do or don't have the time to do.

Like take Cam Newton for instance. Dude is hyper emotional and sometimes throws hissy fits. As an logical adult, I get it. You are playing a game, it doesn't go your way...you get pissed. And some jackass is doing his very best to needle you into giving him a soundbite or storyline. That's some scumbag shit right there...but its hidden from sight because "that's their job" Yeah, your job is to report about sports, not be a fucking twatwaffle.

As a grown man, I threw a major fucking hissy fit the other day because I could not figure out how to correctly wire a dimmer light switch. Followed the directions and still...down was on and up was off. (the fucking terminals were somehow reversed in the switch by the way. Was manufacturer error, not mine) But I screamed and hollered and acted generally like a ass. And that was just a light switch. Imagine losing a playoff game or a super bowl. Fuck I'd be up their Beast Moding through my interviews "I'm just here so I don't get fined"

Parents don't want to put in the work explaining to their kids that athletes are human beings. That takes effort and time and a measure of thoughtfulness.

So unfortunately, its just a part of the deal in professional sports these days.

That being said...maybe stay off snapchat if you enjoy snorting booger sugar out of a hooker's balloon knot. That's not just good advice for athletes, that goes for everybody.
