People of Reddit, what's your "I don't want you as a friend anymore" moments. When you realize that someone is not a good friend towards you?

I'm a bit late to the thread here, but I'm sort of currently going through this with a friend. We've known each other since we were born since our parents were friends before we were born. Their family moved about an hour away about 20 years ago. We still visited them over the years and for a long time were a great support system for each other.

Around ten years ago he started dating his girlfriend and they recently got engaged, which is really exciting news. She's the only girl he's ever dated and I'm happy for them, but they've lost their independence over the years and share their entire identities.

I ended up moving in with them for a few weeks while finishing up school, and after I had paid rent to stay with them they decided to tell me about rules of their house after I had moved in and paid. They also introduced me to their friend, and then told me I was to stay away from her since she was a family friend. They then got mad at me for bringing someone over for a drink one night, and this girl has known them for years so it wasn't exactly a stranger. Apparently I needed to ask permission to invite people over, after I had paid rent to stay there as a tenant. I moved out after these disagreements, and when I went back to get some of my stuff I had forgotten his fiancee wouldn't say hello to me for the brief period of time I was there.

As far as I'm concerned, this friendship is dying and it breaks my heart. We've known each other for so long and have so many memories, but he isn't the same person I used to know. I know these things happen and times change, but I was hoping it wouldn't ever happen to me.
