People shouldn’t protest and boycott things that are happening in other countries when the population of that country is ok with it.

Yea the population is definitely not okay with this. Take a browse through /r/Brunei, the response is overwhelmingly negative.

In fact, the population never had any say in it. There was never any announcement to dialouge regarding the implementatjon of Sharia Law in April. The government pushed for it in secret and Bruneians only found out through the international media.

Not only LGBT people will be affected but also other ethnic and religious minorities. Heck, I'm in the ethnic majority but I could face the death penalty for apostasy.

Sharia Law has never been about propagating the Islamic faith in Brunei or anti-LGBT discrimination, it's always been about consolidating power for the monarchy.
