People shouldn't care about other people's abortions

There will always be a portion of society that wants to impose their values on others, unfortunately.

I’d never want to have an abortion, or ask a partner to get one (I already have a kid and like them for the most part) but I’m very much pro-choice.

You can get lost in that “well you would care if someone is murdered” hole. It’s just a ploy to make you engage - it’s not the same thing. If someone has an abortion and no one is aware of it, how could you have an opinion?

And in all reality, even if a state or a nation makes it illegal, if someone truly wants an abortion - they’ll find a way to do it. I knew a girl in high school who overdosed on vitamin c and forced a miscarriage because she was afraid of what her father would do.

It’s mostly one of those “feel good arguments” to make you vote a certain way, thinking that’s the moral thing to do, so you don’t notice all the other shit going on.

For a politician to say “I’m anti-choice” guarantees at least 50% of their constituents will vote for them - avoiding the topic taxation/infrastructure/more complex issues that wouldn’t guarantee much.
