Why do people still deny anthropogenic climate change or believe it’s not as serious as some scientists make it seem

The variability of climate extremes is important! We need to adapt to what there is and what is to come.

The amount of human impact / agency on climactic conditions beyond regional studies, are guesses based upon modeling simulations. Those simulations are extremely complex and routinely negate the findings of one another. I had to do this type of work in graduate school, it's surprising to say the least. Much more work is needed.

So I would be cautious in our opinions for or against human agency as a very high impact variable. There is no sense in taking an extreme position one way or the other. There is a need for as much research as possible.

What makes the most sense:

- Adapt to the environment we have and we think we will have in the next 5 years.
- Continue to do the science necessary to answer these questions the best we can without politics or prejudgement.
