"Why do people talk like they're in military and take things so seriously" (common misconception I hear from a lot of gamers)

You seem to have comprehension issues. Have you ever been in the military, or are you close to anyone who has? I'm guessing not.

You don't need specifics for small arms fire. You wouldn't normally request a particular caliber because that's not particularly useful.

But if you want a certain position to be peppered with explosives, you have to specify that. How do you think that happens?

If you want someone with an M203 to hit it, you would say "Get a 203 on that MG", and if you wanted an emplacement/vehicle to hit it, you would ask for "40 Mike Mike on that MG". Despite the fact that they both use the same round you can quickly differentiate which one you want. It's kind of really important when using the radio.

It's especially useful for radio calls in game when the squad leader you're talking to doesn't have the exact context. I'll say it again: clear and concise without repeating yourself.

If you've already been trained on how to make these calls, what is the point in dumbing down your calls just so strangers on the internet don't think you're "douchey"? Especially when nobody misunderstands the call. It's like being one of those people who brags about not reading books.

I hope you have fun while carefully maintaining your not-douchey status, I'm gonna stick with the way I was trained to do it.
