Why do people where shoes inside of the house?

I take shoes off at the door if they're wet or gross. Floors get dirty just from dust, particles that fly in. I'm not fooling anyone with a no shoe policy. It's almost impossible to keep a kitchen floor perfectly clean and then I track the rest of the house up with that.

Apart from my carpeted rooms, floors are cold and unwelcoming during the colder months. My socks rip when I walk in them too much, so I prefer to have a shoe that protects my feet and socks. My feet get sweaty and pick up all the stuff on the floor, another reason why going barefoot isn't ideal. Slippers then don't provide support, like I slip in them or my feet get too hot in them. I threw my slippers out after slipping down the stairs in them.

Now that I essentially never leave my house because of covid, wearing shoes in the house is important for foot health. Your arches can collapse.
