People who don’t reply until days later, why?

Just wanted to reach back out and say I definitely didn't make this conclusion entirely on my own. I had presumed for a long time that I had it because I had a ton of unexplained symptoms left over from my anxiety (which I had lessened to a very minor extent - essentially I had a ton of anxiety and depression, worked through it, and I couldn't explain some of the symptoms left over because I knew it wasn't anxiety or depression but I knew it wasn't normal either). I mentioned it to my boyfriend, who said it was a possibility, and then I promptly just ignored it because I couldn't put a finger on any of it. My boyfriend actually went through a mental checklist without telling me and after a few months of "studying" me and comparing it to things my family, his family, and our friends had said about my behavior, he suggested I get checked out for it just to be sure.

ADHD in women is often overlooked and missed until adulthood. I was 21 when I got diagnosed. I did end up getting checked out for it and my doctor, who has known me since I was 16, had agreed it was likely ADHD (we ruled out anxiety and depression after a very lengthy discussion) and after trying some medications to find what works and some more discussions, I'm now diagnosed and on a prescription. But you're absolutely correct, for anyone who comes across this, definitely don't diagnose yourself. It's fine to notice abnormal behavior and question it of course, cause how else would we find any of our issues, but at the end of the day only a professional can actually come to that conclusion because they will almost always know more than ourselves.
