People who don't know the difference between "their", "there" and "they're".... Why haven't you figured it out yet?

Communication is a huge part of most jobs, unless you're bussing or something. In any education/skill reliant job, it'd look terrible if someone didn't recognize the difference between the three "There" words.

I've personally seen people not get hired due to silly, lazy mistakes like that. The thought is, if you're too lazy to spend time proofreading a professional email on a basic level, or job application, then it's assumed that same laziness and lack of effort will plague your work as well.

While yes, some people do struggle, I wouldn't disrespect them by pretending they're all helpless who can never spell. One of my old buddies had severe dyslexia. He somehow got a 5/5 on his English ACT, and kicked ass on the SAT as well. Just because someone has dyslexia doesn't mean they're incapable of learning. While it's more difficult for them, takes more time, they certainly can learn to spell correctly, or know the difference between words.

Let's also not pretend that the only people who don't know the difference between those words have some learning disability. Some people are lazy and don't value learning, just how it is sadly. It's no secret that people are capable of choosing how to present themselves, and it says a lot about them.

No need to be defensive buddy, you seemed to have taken this personally, no idea why though.
