People who don't use google as their primary search engine, what do you use and why do you choose it over google?

I have given duck duck go an honest shot for about 6 months now and I’ve grown so frustrated with it I’m about to switch back. Even though it lacks a lot of problems Google has we all already know about it’s search feature just isn’t as good. I’ve been having more and more problems with it as time goes on too. I will use the image search sometimes and nothing that comes up is relevant. I really started to realize how useful the suggestions google gives you are at the top (like when you type in a math problem or question not actual search bar suggestions) time and time again i end up in a situation where I’m trying to find something with duck duck go and by the third try I get pissed off and go back to google which finds it instantly first try with the original search term right at the top. Three times is my limit man I’m sorry this isn’t 1990s lycos search days anymore. I know how to type things in to get a search engine to do what you want and sometimes duck duck go just doesn’t work well at all. The worst part is this always happens when I’m trying to find something seemingly obvious. For more obscure stuff it’s mostly been fine. I don’t know if they are too aggressively blocking products and services to even out the results or what but it’s not working for me. Is there a setting or different search engine I can use that just rips everything from google without sending anything back to them? I am interested in protecting my privacy but duck duck go just doesn’t work for me if I have to keep going back to google anyway.
