People who fall asleep in under half an hour at night, how do you do it?

For me it's all about mental state and sleep training. A lot of this my mom unknowingly taught me as a kid. I also rode the train and worked odd hour jobs which just made it easier for me to sleep any time anywhere. I think a big thing is your bed being for sleeping and sex. Not watching TV, not fiddling with the phone or whatever. Also a clean and comfortable bed makes it an inviting space you like to just sink into. So after that... I lie down. Flip and kick my legs for a while almost similar to how a dog will circle and dig at it's bedding I guess... This is the thing I do probably because of my mom.. when I was a kid I was real restless so she'd sit there with me and tell me to first make my head still. Then my arms. Then my body. Then legs, then feet. And pretty much that still works for me today. Once I'm totally still my mind is at peace and I am instantly asleep. Takes about 5 mins. Drives my wife crazy. I think the other thing is not trying too hard. Just do it... which is easier said than done. But important. State of mind--meditate if you need but a busy mind isn't going to fall asleep. The key i think is loving the comfort of your bed--for me it's about the perfect pillow and perfect blanket. I like sheets and a thick comforter but whats the nicest is a lose knit cotton blanket. The texture feels real good to rub your feet on and more importantly it breathes well so you don't get sweaty. For the pillow I love a real feather pillow that's lightly stuffed. My wife found a non-feather that I like even better now.. just got it a month ago. If I can remember the brand I'll add the info. Good luck tho. Falling asleep fast is the best. Hope you can train yourself to do so! Try having a warm glass of milk before bed too.
