People who have gotten back with their exes after many months or years, what’s your story?

We were broken up for over 2 years. Still raised our kid together and stayed very close good friends, hung out all the time, probably beyond what's typically normal for exes who have kids. I never really stopped loving her, and being able to see her as the mother of my child made me see her in a new light.

Then last fall we decided it was kinda dumb to break up in the first place. Our reasoning for breaking up was that we'd both be able to have experiences with other people throughout college and do our own thing, and told ourselves we were just stupid high school kids and we shouldn't stay together just for the baby. There wasn't any problem in our relationship at all, but for some reason we forced ourselves to believe that we were doing ourselves a disservice by staying together.

But yeah last fall we just grew closer and started sleeping with each other again, and decided to admit we're in a relationship still.
