People who grew up with strict parents: what was their most unreasonable rule?

I wasn't allowed to invite anyone over to our house like ever. The reason? They weren't Christian. Even if they were, they were AMERICAN, so they're still not real Christians, my parents told me. That meant that up until the age of 22, until I could finally get a job and enough money to move out to a place of my own, I never was able to invite anyone over to my parent's house while I lived with them. It really ruined any chance of having friends because I couldn't hang out with anyone either, and since I never invited anyone over, the interactions with some would just... fade away. That means I missed out on a lot of friendships. Many of them I made online, but the majority of them live in another country or state. Also, the reason why I didn't want to make or bring any friends over to my house from my church was because they were all weird and we shared like zero interests. They were all Russians or Ukranians who loved to talk about girls, fast cars, and other stereotypical things you would hear them talk about. I was a Russian kid who loved gaming, reading books, playing sports, and being a nerdy kid in general.
