I had worked at a restaurant where most of my friends were the bar staff. we would hang out a lot at the bar even when we weren't working bc we had nothing else to do.

People would set up days to go do something, see a movie, someones birthday, whatever. My birthday was on a friday, which if you're a bartender, you sure as shit are at work. so i moved the day to celebrate my birthday back a week to the next sunday for ppl to accept and figure out where we were going. Day of, two people text saying that stuff came up that morning and then two others just didnt show up. I spent my "birthday" drinking alone at a club 20 mi from my house instead of just drinking at home.

It made me realize that all of my text messages at that point were always outbound, never more than a few words inbound. I really have an issue with trust and meeting people now.
