People who had laser eye surgery to correct their vision. Any advice? Anything you wish you knew beforehand?

I had corneal collagen cross linking surgery (not really the laser eye surgery you think of) - this doesn't make my vision any better it only stops it from getting worse as I suffer badly from Kerrataconus.

After the surgery my eye felt completely fine, it was numb for an hour or 2 as the anesthetic was still in effect and I remember I went out to the shops and all of a sudden I had the worst pain and head ache I've ever experienced and my eye wouldn't stop watering. It watered ALOT. this watering was constant for several days and it was excruciating for maybe 2 or 3 days. That and I was a lot more sensitive to light, I could only go out with my sunglasses.
