People who later met up with the "one who got away", how did it go?

We fell for each other in the early 90's while meeting on several business trips over a year or so. Everything clicked. Sadly, we lived on separate coasts and were both married with young children so despite being unhappy with our then-current lots, we were the type to nonetheless to honor our loveless commitments for the kids' sake. We found each other again about five years ago and haven't stopped being happily in love ever since. We will die together in true love and as best friends. I consider myself the luckiest man in the world because of her. Our kids are now grown - happy, friendly, polite, loving, kind, and empathic and exhibit no damage from being raised in houses with fake love because the love we did not give to our spouses was showered on them. That was biggest fear in my decision to 'stick it out.' My lone regret is the time missed out with her. All that being said - no regrets.

Life takes strange turns. Enjoy the ride because you never know where it takes you or drops you off.
